Simpson Wedding
After Covid-19 forced a statewide shut down and a reschedule of their spring wedding, Olivia and Hunter jumped up and quickly made changes to wed this September! And then…Hurricane Sally ripped through our county days before their wedding, and we were all a bit nervous. When we saw the destruction surrounding their venue, Oak Hollow Farms, we were shocked. No one had power. Most roads you couldn’t even drive down. We were all fortunate to have not lost any loved ones in the storm that took us all by surprise! This precious bride expressed that it was fine if her day didn’t look exactly as planned, she just wanted to marry her best friend and celebrate with those who were able to make it!! SO WE DID!!! First thing that happened, was the venue owners and their family, the bride and grooms family and friends all rallied together to clear out trees and debris from the ceremony site and barn! Many of them with trees around and/or on their own homes, but they wanted to serve this precious couple! They worked for days and made it happen! It was incredible to see everyone come together!!
When we arrived at Oak Hollow, you could hear the generators running to keep food cold in the kitchen, lamps and curling irons running in the bridal suite!! Due to the hurricane enforced curfew, we had to last minute shift the timeline up 4 1/2 hours, so we all started out early with coffee in hand!
I just keep reliving their day in my mind and it makes me smile how precious every moment was. This bride and groom were so relaxed, joyful and grateful for every aspect that was happening and never stopped expressing it through their calm and sweet spirits. It was beyond words!!
With Tropical Storm Beta hanging out in the gulf, showers were getting thrown our way all day, but thankfully we didn’t even have to use the umbrellas we were toting!! We were able to get their portraits done out on the property in between little showers yay!!!
I’m starting with their bride and groom portraits, simply because I’m obsessed with them!!! And then enjoy a light overview of their day! ((Read the descriptions…it was a day FULL of hilarious and fun moments!!))
